Six Senses Kyoto
シックスセンシズ 京都
Treat IHG status here as a points-earning bonus, not a perks card: Six Senses excludes the Diamond breakfast and Milestone suite upgrades, there is no club lounge, and the upgrades guests report are the same discretionary moves non-members get. The only meaningful elite-style package comes from the paid InterContinental Ambassador tiers, and only at Six Senses hotels that participate in that scheme.

Breakfast policy
Platinum Elite · Mid-tier
No breakfast for Platinum
IHG Platinum has no breakfast benefit anywhere, and Six Senses adds none.
Breakfast is about ¥7,000 per person when not included in the rate (Apr 2026 stay report); many Japanese OTA plans bundle it.
Diamond Elite · Top-tier
Diamond breakfast excluded at Six Senses
IHG's Diamond complimentary-breakfast amenity does not apply at Six Senses hotels (One Mile at a Time, updated Dec 2025; Biirdee, Sep 2026).
Book a breakfast-inclusive rate instead: Sekki serves a buffet table plus one main and two sides from a menu (Aug 2026 reader review).
Breakfast for two at walk-in prices costs roughly ¥14,000 a day.

- Sekki / Café Sekki (B1, half-buffet with à la carte mains such as eggs Benedict)
Club lounge access
Platinum Elite · Mid-tier
No club lounge at this hotel
There is no club floor or executive lounge; arrival is handled in an entrance lounge with tea and sweets (2024–2026 stay reports).
A Milestone annual lounge membership has nothing to unlock here.
Diamond Elite · Top-tier
No lounge; nothing offered instead
No status-based substitute (drinks or snacks) was reported; welcome sweets and an in-room snack jar are given to all guests.
Ikyu.com's own Diamond/Gold members receive a hotel credit (¥5,000 reported), but that is an OTA benefit, not IHG.

- No club lounge
Upgrade track record
Platinum Elite · Mid-tier
No Platinum-specific reports
No 2024–2026 stay report from a Platinum member was found.
IHG Milestone confirmable suite upgrades cannot be used at Six Senses (One Mile at a Time, Dec 2025).
Diamond Elite · Top-tier
Small room-choice gestures, not real upgrades
A Diamond who booked the cheapest rate was offered a choice of two Deluxe King rooms (high-floor courtyard or low-floor garden view) — a room choice rather than a category jump (FlyerTalk report quoted by several guides; thread not accessible).
Upgrades also reach guests without status: an Apr 2026 Ikyu booker was moved to a balcony room and a Jan 2026 Ikyu reviewer received an upgrade on a holiday weekend.
Elite upgrades are generally excluded at Six Senses; InterContinental Ambassador's one-category upgrade applies only at participating Six Senses hotels, and Kyoto is not on One Mile at a Time's list of 15.

Early check-in / late checkout
Platinum Elite · Mid-tier
No reports from status holders
IHG's standard Platinum 14:00 late checkout on availability has not been reported in practice here.
A Sep 2026 reader review notes an early check-in granted on arrival, with no time given and no status mentioned.
Diamond Elite · Top-tier
No reports from status holders
No 2024–2026 report of a Diamond's checkout time at this hotel.
The Ambassador-style 4 p.m. checkout at Six Senses is limited to participating properties.
Kids & bed-sharing
Free Grow kids' club for ages 5–12
Grow kids' room on B1 runs free daily activities for ages 5–12; under-4s can join with a parent (hotel replies to Ikyu reviews, Sep 2025 and Feb 2026).
Families with preschoolers (May 2026) and a child (Jun 2026) praised the kids' club staff.
Indoor pool has set hours for children (TPG, Sep 2024); the rooftop bar admits children only in early hours (May 2026 review).
Bed-sharing age, extra-bed and child breakfast prices were not found.
